unlocked 8700c working with tmobile??

I just received this bb 8700c, I tried unlocking it with a code
I got off of the net. For hours nothing would work, then this morning
I updated the os to 4.5, then tried the unlock and it worked. But
now it does not reconize the sim card and asks for it, this also occurs
when I try the cingular sim. My tmobile sim is active. Am I doing something
wrong or have not done the correct steps yet.

ps. yes it is unlocked checked the mepd
although the opening screen still says cingular, now att shows
on the first page.
Is there anyway of removing the cingular splash screen?

Can't remove the cingular splash screen...are you saying that it shows that you are connected to an att tower...with edge, EDGE, gprs, GPRS, or GSM??
