BB lost connection with BES

I have a user who leaves her BB off except for the once a week or so that she is offsite. Last week, her 7520 BB decided it wasn't feeling the love anymore and stopped talking to the server. I hadn't seen the device, but I resent the service books and IT policy. It appeared to be sent succesfully according to BES (4.1).

When I finally got my hands on the device today, all of her corporate info was gone like it had been wiped, but the BIS stuff was still working :???: and the activation icon was on the home screen. So I reactivated it and it is just fine now.

Ok, so I know that I cannot completely trust a user when they swear they didn't wipe the device inadvertantly, but is there a certain timeout to which the BES or device will stop talking to each other if they haven't communicated in a while?

Hi. It depends on what version of BES your running.

In 4.1 there are policy settings to wipe the handheld if the battery goes flat and/or also after a period of time when it hasn't spoken to the BES.
