Nav4all version 8.0.1

I don't see any mention of it on their web site, but version 8.0.1 of nav4all is now available. The biggest difference that I have noticed so far between this and the previous version is that there are a lot of new options in the settings menu. I haven't tried to use it for navigation yet.

Hmm. I downloaded it and when I type in an address, I can't get the number keys to work on my Pearl. It worked in Version 7

I have a strange issue with my device. I own a 8310.
I've installed nav4all, version 8.0.1 and during the installation and even efter, when I try to configure the GPS I get this error: No bluetooth GPS sensor found.

Can you help me ?

RickyG 10-02-2007 06:38 PM

Hello aares...i just DL it today also and have the same issue. I go to the GPS option and do a search again. It dosnt find it or says it doesnt, but it works?!?

I also shut of the BT on my 8100 and turned it back on and that worked also.

I changed my blackberry and after that everything worked fine. It seems that it was an issue with my blackberry device.

I'm trying it with an 8700g and iBlue puck. I get the message that it can't acccess bluetooth also, but if I tell it to use internal gps, it works just fine...

I had the same problem. It is mentioned in thier KB, but it was generic.
I now have a process
pearl running<> BT off
Turn on 1200 and wait 45 seconds to catch sat
the 1200 will request BT
Select yes
No prblems since I do it this way.

I've used it for a couple days now... I'm pretty impressed. It is much better than their earlier version. There are lots of good features and options, including address book integration. The navigation seems very accurate from the limited times I've used it. I did make it a point to use it to find places I hadn't been before. It isn't as "pretty" as the commercial products, but for free it is very good. The only things I would like to see added, is that the navigation screen doesn't show the name of the street that you should turn on to, and the voice doesn't say it either. If you had a couple intersections very close to each other, it could be cconfusing. Other than that though, I really like it. Just might be good enough to cancel my telenav service.

I like it because of the voice prompt. Dont have to look at the BB all the time. We all know how dangerious that can be ;)

buggle_96 10-06-2007 09:54 AM

8.0.3 is out!

buggle_96 10-06-2007 10:06 AM

Oh and the 0 key now works :)

fr0zen 10-07-2007 08:42 AM

does this work for Canada?

aerobb 10-17-2007 01:34 PM

can the program access the internal gps on my 8800? if not i might be willing to purchase a puck and that slim houx looks real nice. Would love something to put on my key chain.

richard371 10-20-2007 04:36 PM

I can't get it to work with internal gps 8310.

Richard:

I'm pretty much a complete newbie with the BB, and found that it worked just fine on mine. I'm running a brand new 8310, ATT service, and it found the gps just fine.

I have no idea how to operate the software (it ain't Google Maps...LOL), but I can tell that it's pretty cool. I read in the EULA, and it said that its free until 2008. Does that mean that it's going to be 'pay to play' after 01/08, or does the EULA just re-up after that it's still free for the general public?

So Far Nav4all (8.05 is out) is free and works very well. Yes it works in Canada. I have alos used it in Mexico City a few days ago. You do need a little time to figure however once you learn the basics you are ready to go. The great thing is it has all of the world maps. Lots of features!

I also use Wayfinder which is exactly like telenav however it does have a one time fee! Wayfinder, Telnav and Nav4all are very similar except the free one has tons of features.

Both work great on a BB 8310 using Fido with BB Connect!

If you have problems uninstall it make sure there is no folder in the devise or microsd card. Than reinstall and accept everything when it want to install and you should be OK.

Cheers,
