Buy 7100i or wait for new Nextel BB
I'm ready to buy my first BB but need to stay with Nextel (only service that works in the plant where I work). Should I by the 7100i or wait for the new one coming out this fall? Or is there a new one coming out?

Nothing new on iDEN coming out any time soon.

Nextel is always late with it, just wait.

I wouldn't hold my breath. Since the speculation of how Sprint is considering dumping the propietary iden network and giving the spectrum back to the government, and how they are working on an "alternative" to 4G and iden via wimax, it'll be a while till they have a new series of anything nextel phones. Like everyone said here, you should just wait till something comes out and just keep your current phone and save you the trouble of any assumptions. |
Your comments on iDEN are incorrect but it is true - no newer iDEN BB on the horizon.

southwestcomm thus the reason why i said keywords "speculation" and "assumptions!" no need to try to kill my comment. I wasn't trying to state anything, so i dunno why i was wrong, except just regurgitate info ive read! And furthermore i know about the harmony project and having the spectrum being reserved for the fed's. likewise, there's also talk about the phase out of 2010 too, which is why sprint is mum on their exit plan if they do tend to transition everyone from iden to cdma/ready link for this. But rest assured, i aint a believer of this stuff till a press kit from sprint is released. Likewise, it's all a waiting game. Oh and here are some articles about all them rumors. Likewise, don't tell me im wrong, i don't believe in something unless i see it or know it's fact. Speedier wireless on the way via 4G | CNET News.com PCS Intel - One More Moto...
