Boy Genius: BB Bold delayed to least Mid-August

BlackBerry Bold delayed on ATxxx038;T until at least mid-August! : Boy Genius Report

chubby_nubby 06-25-2008 04:20 AM

I just saw that, I hope its not true!

greggebhardt 06-25-2008 05:02 AM

Well, we all kinda knew this delay was coming. Lets just hope that August does not turn into September or November or . . . . . Christmas?

BREAKING NEWS: AT&T Bold Delayed Until Mid-August? | BlackBerryNews.com

I think the iPhone has more than a bit to do with this. Perhaps ATT didn't want both launched at the same time.

JSanders 06-25-2008 06:06 AM

Probably so. Too bad.

bperkins 06-25-2008 06:07 AM

Yeap, this is what I was saying last week BlackBerryForums.com : Your Number One BlackBerry Community - View Single Post - Blackberry Bold & ROGERS: official mention

So, Brad, do you think the iPhone2 hit AT&T about 1-2 months ago, so that it will inline and on-time to release on schedule?

Sith_Apprentice 06-25-2008 06:17 AM

AT&T employees have had access to the 9000 for some time, well over 3 months.

Does this slow up the release of items behind it?

customshopkv1 06-25-2008 07:32 AM

That sucks

sandmanfvr 06-25-2008 07:34 AM

IF ATT did this to help the iPhone, hell with them. RIM needs to not release to GSM first all the damn time. Go GSM and CDMA for launches! Damn..... *shakes head*:x

Sith_Apprentice 06-25-2008 07:39 AM

Everyone says that GSM gets things first but that is really not the case. 8130, the first pearl 2, was launched on CDMA before GSM got their pearl 2. With that came video recording, full voice recording, and 8gb+ media cards. the 8330 is more advanced than any of the previous curves, with 50% more memory and it launched also with 4.3. The 9500 will be CDMA on VZW.

Sith_Apprentice 06-25-2008 07:46 AM

jimpilot 06-25-2008 08:00 AM

I wonder how many I-phones will be sold and played with and then return while waiting for the BOLD. :-)

Sith_Apprentice 06-25-2008 08:01 AM

when the iPhone launched its average return rate was nearly 8 times higher than the blackberry

Have no idea about the iPhone. I only have inforamtion regarding RIM.

Sith_Apprentice...which empolyees are you referring to? They will hit the field this week for trials. The MAC's will be part of this pool.

Sith_Apprentice 06-25-2008 08:15 AM

Several higher level employees in the data support side had them several months ago. that was the first time I was able to play with it.

mdlissner 06-25-2008 08:17 AM

Too Bad - I can wait a while to get it now that I have OS4.5
