Wireless update to OS 5

I want to update my users Bold 9000s to OS 5. If I go to ADVANCED OPTIONS > WIRELESS UPDATE it only lists 4.6.0.303 as an available option.

What is the easiest way to upgrade them to OS 5 ?

Thanks

Use the instructions in the Sticky Thread at the top of this 9000 section, upgrade via the USB connection.

This needs to be "approved" by RIM

Usb connection via DM is the best easy and safe way to upgrade!

nobla, I think what is trying to be said is there there are requirements from your local carrier to do a wireless upgrade of the OS. Right now, with your steps above, you only see the latest OS that your carrier has approved for that particular device.

You said you want to update your users, I'll assume you are a BES admin. In the BES environment, you have to have a hh that can be updated wirelessly and have your carrier approve an OS (in this case 5.0 or greater) before you can instruct your users to do an OTA OS upgrade.

In my enviroment, most of my devices are 9000's. My largest carrier is ATT and they have yet to approve an OS at 5.0 or above, so right now we sit.

Now, this is not to say you cannot upgrade a singular BB device with the instructions from the other responders. YOu can always upgrade via DM. But if you are trying to do a group update with a BES environment, you sit and wait until your carrier approves it.

Just the way it is.

I just hope they (AT&T) approves it before the end of this decade... I'm not holding my breath.
