Cursor and Scrolling Goes Crazy?

Myself and my Mrs both have a Blackberry Curve 9300 3g. I've had mine a week longer than my Mrs but her's has developed a fault where as the cursor scrolls up and down non-stop and it's making the phone unusable.

I saw a post on here saying it was a possible problem with the Facebook app and that could be causing the problem, but it's not just Facebook app the scrolling goes crazy, it's anything.

Is there a fix I can do so we don't have to send it in for repair?

My network I got the contract with said it's a sign of the phone's hardware starting to fail.

Have you tried a battery pull?

Yes and it lasts all of 5 minutes before it starts to scroll again.

Was it dropped or did it get wet or damp?

Neither.

What did you do to the device just before this happened - install an app or theme perhaps?

Absolutely nothing at all. The memory is too small to put anything on anyway.

Have you tried reinstalling the OS? If that doesn't fix the issue then it could be a hardware issue.

We reflashed to the leaked 0s6 ver 702 and it made no difference so we reflashed back to the 3 UK ver 577 stock and it's gone in for repair.

I can only think it's an hardware failure.
