Doesn't sync add-ons automatically when syncing the rest of the data. This hasn't worked since 5.0.

At least I don't have to manually shut down each RIM Service one by one to get 7.0.0.0 to recognize my phone.

What add-ons do you mean?

There is nothing to solve. The organizer is used to sync certain information to your phone. Either update now or later.

That's not true - it does backup and restore 3rd party apps. Always has.

Sorry I didn't communicate it properly. There is a menu in the left-hand column called Add-Ins. It is used to sync data for specific applications (like KeePass). Up through 5.0, when you would do a sync, DM would automatically sync those specific applications as well. It doesn't work anymore. You now have to manually sync those applications separately. It's a big pain-in-the-ass and it often doesn't even work (e.g., the DM connects to the Blackberry and wants to do the normal sync and doesn't even give you the option to sync the other add-in applications).

For 2 versions, RIM has yet to fix this. They really have gone down as an organization.

reset your sync profile to default. you might have modified the sync pref in organizer to sync contacts.
