altering the cingular branded theme

has anyone achieved altering the the cingular theme so it doesnt say cingular? and has anyone been able to removed the cingular screen on boot?

if so, how do you do it?

You can't alter the Cingular logo that flashes up on your screen when the phone boots, even if you change to use another Carrier's OS. The startup screen is there to stay.

I have read a tip somewhere on this board about removing the printed logo on your BB device, I don't know how. You should find it with a good search of the board.

I misunderstood part of your question.

Yep, if you want to change your Theme, get a new theme. Look at Options > Themes. More info about 8800 themes in two sticky notes at the top of this 8800 Forum.

As well, if you do nothing else today, go read the Tip sheet located here. It will improve your health and brighten your teeth:

I know what you're asking, and I'm curious about altering the theme as well. I don't ming the Cingular logos. I don't like the fact that you can't really use a different wallpaper image with it, since the clouds image in the upper and lower bands seem to be separate images (they remain and obscure any personalized wallpaper image). On the 8700c, the band was semi-transparent and worked well with a personalized background.

I also like the way the Cingular theme dumped any added applications into the application folder on the 8700c. The 8800 they all get placed on the home screen.

I still prefer the Cingular theme to most others I've tried.
