I remember one year that 2 days after registration opened, the Marriott was filled. This was back in the day where registration and hotel reservations were separate. I wasn't able to get a room there until I dropped the Marriott Rewards number on the Marriott reservation specialist. After I did that, they were; "Yes, Mr. DarthBBerry. Of course we have a room for you, Mr. DarthBBerry. Yes, we will apply the government rate for the conference for you, Mr. DarthBBerry."

Now that's not saying that the Marriott was REALLY filled. I think they had rooms blocked off for sponsors or other RIM officials. I heard that more rooms were released at a later date. However, the sooner you can book your registration/hotel reservation, that more peace of mind you will have about being at the host hotel.

I am booked and in the host site (again). Looking forward to seeing whomever is attending.

It seems shorter this year, I'm leaving Thursday so hopefully it is like previous and only a half day of sessions. Can't tell as they havn't posted the session catalog yet!

I got approved and am fully booked! Staying at the marriott world center, woot! This will be first time! Can't wait

Got verification that I would be going but every year getting a room is such a hassle. No luck online or calling Marriott even with a rewards account. Then the registration services team tells me that they have a room available for the dates I need and wants me to contact them with my CC info.. I call 5 minutes after I get the email and they say its no longer available???

I know they have rooms available but its always such a headache to get a room at govt rate.

If anyone on here with reservations at govt rate ends up cancelling their trip please contact me. I would be willing to throw a few bucks your way to xfer the reservations into my name.
