RSA SecurID v2.1 working on everything but 8130's?

Anybody using SecurID been able to get latest v2.1 version working on 8130 devices? We have noticed this issue over the last couple of weeks, going back to 2.0 seems to solve it but of course would prefer the latest. If this is happening to others then I will try to open a ticket with RSA on this.

rsa securid client does not work on BB 8310

I can confirm this, seeing alternating error messages:

a) trying to install the SecurID 2.1.1 Application through Desktop Manager doesn't work at all

b) using an older download of v2.0 works with Desktop Manager, but fails on execution with exception "Error starting Securid: Class 'com.rsa.SecurIDLib.exceptions.DatabaseFullExcepti on' not found."

c) placing the .cod and .jad file on a webserver and using OTA download let installation succeed, but fails on execution with same error message as in b)

d) later attempts for OTA download (like in c) failed already on download with "907 Invalid COD"

I REALLY hope, that RSA fixes these issues, otherwise I may have to go back to my :bb:7290 :o

Cheers,

Tobias

Hi tobkra, I was speaking specifically of the 8130 pearl device, to verify, are you talking about the curve 8310 as well?

My problem was that I forgot to set the disallow third party downloads to false..

Are you performing a wireless app push or USB. ? Is this the only application not pushing to 8130's. If wireless be sure that you have updated the device.xml on the bes server and test another app.

If its wired.

An RSA file on the blackberry already exists as part of the OS (I believe the file is called SecureIDLib.cod) so you need to install with desktop manager, this then fails. When you uninstall it removes ALL Secure id files. (also the one thats included with the os). You can then install RSA successfully (wirelessly or through DTM).

be sure that disposition is set to optional otherwise the file will not uninstall. (policy if doing wirelessly),

The key thing is to remove the secureidlib.cod as this file is no longer used by the new version.

To check go to Options > Advanced options > Applications > Modules, Scroll through the list and make sure secureidlib.cod does not exist. It it does remove it.

Thanks mattlane for the tip. Yes we have the device.xml up to date, and this is via wireless and via USB. Sometimes the icon doesn't even appear, other times it does but throws an error when launching. I will try your tip and uninstall the RIM module next time I come across this issue.

BTW, reported this to RSA, however without a device in front of me, they couldn't assist. They don't do any testing against new devices that come out, they just say "it should work" until you prove it doesn't. There has been a history of new devices not working with RSA, they seem to not want to be proactive with this.

I asked the engineer if he had a 8130 to test with, his response was "I would love to have an 8130!". How do you develop BB software and NOT have the ability to access all currently available BB models?

Actually I just realized I could have informed him that there are simulators available in the SDK for all models... the fact that they didn't think of that first makes me go hmmm.... :)

I have it working on a few 8130's

I have not had any issues other than pushing a token sometimes doesn't work well. The app has installed fine. I am running 4.3.0.97 (on Verizon but not Verizon code) and I also have a device running on latest code from Verizon. I have installed ONLY thru DM. I can tell you it does work.
Secure Id info
App version 2.1.1
SecureIDlib version 2.1.0

Thanks for the info. BTW we are using the consolidated .cod file version 2.1.1 that includes the SecurIDlib within it instead of breaking it out. Perhaps that makes a difference.

I am pushing the 2.1.1 app out to various devices ,8703,8700, 8310, 7290. So far I haven't tried the 8310 BUT all others are ok.

So far I randomly get the KB12463 issue and I have to clear the tables.
