Try deleting any installed Browser Push Channels (like Weather, BPlay, etc).

coachray2 06-18-2008 07:22 PM

BUt iam not getting to my home screen at all, do i have to reset the phone, if so, how do i do that...

NickfromIL 06-18-2008 07:23 PM

pull the battery with the device on, leave it out for 30 secs, put it back in.

markhutchison 06-18-2008 07:24 PM

If you pull out the battery and reboot you "should" get a second or two on the home screen before the JUM error. Use that couple of seconds to turn off the wireless for your device. If you can manage to turn off the wireless you should be good to go through and delete the Browser Push Channels.

If you're unable to get through to delete the channels then I would say reloading the OS is your next step.

ezrunner 06-18-2008 07:51 PM

use this
How do I wipe the BlackBerry using Jl Cmder? - BlackBerryFAQ

what BB are you using

markhutchison 06-18-2008 07:55 PM

JL_Cmder is a program that you can use (among other things) to erase your BlackBerry. The benefit of doing a full wipe through JL_Cmder is that whatever software is causing the issue will be erased.

Follow the link that ezrunner has posted above to read up on JL_Cmder.

Once you've erased the operating system you will need to reload it using the BlackBerry Desktop Manager. You can follow these instructions to reload the OS:

Interesting, I have never used the JL_Cmder. I always find that when I have users that contact me in regards to this error they are getting, we can simply wipe the blackberry using the desktop manager just fine. Then when that is done, we just reload the OS and all components. Any advantages with using JL_Cmder over the desktop manager?

JL_Cmder is a very clean and quick set of tools for BlackBerry service/maintenance. There are some things in there that are not built into DM (like screen capture for example). Desktop Manager may work fine for loading and reloading the OS but there are many cases where JL_Cmdr is quicker and cleaner to get in and wipe the device.

Dear mark

I have a 8320 locked to Bharti Airtel, India.

If I use JL_CMDER will it completely wipe the device incl the locked mode to my carrier. Or the unlocking needs to be done before using JL_cmder.

Will my device get unlocked by using JL_cmder and completely wiping the device and loading a fresh OS NOT CARRIER SPECIFIC.

bubbu64,

JL_Cmder will wipe all the data from your device. It will not unlock it to allow you to use it on different carriers. You can install any carrier's OS on your 8320 as long as it is an OS for the 8320 model. You can do so by removing the vendor.xml file from your PC.
