7520 & Bluetooth

I have a BB 7520 & a Mac PowerBook. Is there a solution that will allow me to use the bluetooth to surf the web and check email on my Mac?

Nextel apparently disables the modem function in the 7520 :-(

you could say that again... my wife and I signed up for Nextel Service last year, before Nextel and Sprint announced the possibility of a merger... we had sprint service... god knows what we paid for, because the service just plain sucked.

/\ I use the Scala 500......havent tried anything else......got it cause of the rave reviews everywhere including here.....no background noise, good battery life....and thats all i really ask for....

Dawg 09-06-2005 05:54 AM

scala here as well

dinlong 09-06-2005 09:45 AM

used to have the scala - great headset

now have the hbh-660 - even better headset

Meridian99 09-16-2005 08:50 AM

dinlong - you may know exactly what I want to. is the SE hbh-660 compatible with Direct Connect AND does the caller ID work? Any problems?

dinlong 09-16-2005 09:13 AM

The headset works great with direct connect. When a person first beeps you it does take about a second to connect to the headset, so you hear the phone beep and then the headset. You do still have to use the dc button on the phone to respond (this is true of every headset though).

The caller id works, but only shows the number - it does not show the name of the person calling.

I have heard from some sources that the hbh-662 will show the name in caller id on some phone that the hbh-660 would not. I may actually pick one up in the next week or so. If I do I will be sure to post my findings here.

What are your thoughts about this unit's sound quality vs. the reviews by barjohn - he really likes the sound quality of the Plantronics V510 based on his testing.

Meridian99 09-16-2005 10:03 AM

oh. and how long have you had the HBH-660?

dinlong 09-16-2005 10:25 AM

I have had the hbh-660 for about 6 weeks now.

While I cannot compare this headset to the voyager (as I have not used that headset), I would say that while the sound quality is not perfect it is more than acceptable. As I have said before this headset is also quite loud, which for me is a major plus (most of my talking is done in the car with my stereo on).
