Is it possible to get my music playing over my bluetooth?

Bought the Blackberry Curve 8300 today; my first blackberry. I've been testing its limits and everything, and I've managed to get my bluetooth handsfree headset to do calls and but can't figure out how to make my music or ringtones play over the headset.

Is it possible to have my music and ring tones play via bluetooth with this version of Blackberry, or do i have to stick with the ear buds?

Thanks!

Congragulations on your new purchase. I've been told this can't be done with standard bluetooth headsets. The headset has to be able to play music. Doesnt really make since to me. I really wish I could listen to music with my bluetooth, I always pull the earbuds out @ work.

There was a hack a while back that would allow this, but that's not necessary if you use the Jabra 8040 headset or the Plantronics 855. Both are A2DP compatible.

I've used them both and although the Jabra is Mono, I can live with that at the times I want to listen to music walking around or riding my bike. Stereo I'll leave to my ear buds. Music cuts out during calls and restarts after the call ends.

The only drawback on the Jabra is no AVRC music controls, but It is much easier to use than the Plantronics unit that was very scratchy after about a month due to the contacts in removing and replacing the stereo piece.

I am using the Plantronics 925... is this A2DP compatible? actually, a better question for me to be asking is "what does a2dp" mean??? right now when i connect the plantronics 925 to my bb BOLD, and start playing music, there is no option to route the sound to the headset. if there is a hack available, i would gladly download it, or if the jawbone works for this, i would even return the plantronics for that one...

A2DP stands for Advanced Audio Distribution Profile. It allows a Bluetooth headset to control the device, i.e. change volume, skip songs, etc.

The Plantronics 925 is not A2DP compatible. Neither are the Jawbone headsets.

A2DP compatible headsets are usually (always?) stereo headphones, the type that fit over both ears. There are a few A2DP stereo headsets out there. Just Google it.

I think BerryTunes will output the audio via bluetooth, and it should work with any bluetooth headset as you can set the output for either mono or stereo. You can try Berrytunes for 10 days before having to purchase it. But I think it will do what you're looking for.

The Jabra mentioned above is a mono that will play music. I have it and really like it. I don't really use the music feature that often, but as mentioned is very nice on occasion.

I use the Jabra 8040 and it works fine for playback. I have had several BT headsets and overall this is the best one yet for the price.

Hi
I have same blackberry 8310 and i have bluetooth headset (blackberry 655). i have not been able to route the music to the bluetooth device although it works perfect for call. Any ideas how to fix it?
Thanks

That headset does not support A2DP (stereo). As posted above, you need a headset that supports A2DP in order to the music streamed to the Bluetooth Headset.

I don't know why they can't just pipe the audio to a regular bluetooth headset. Not stereo, but just mono audio from a video or something. Seems like they could just send it as they do phone call audio. Although maybe that would interfere with A2DP.

I have numerous headsets. The absolute best sounding ones are Dell model BH200. They're amazing. LG and Motorola also make good ones.

Dell BH200

LG headphones

Motorola headphones

I would rank them:

Dell
Motorola
LG
