Desktop Manager Version 4.5

Hello all- I'm relatively new to the forums, but not to blackberrys. I have an 8330 on the Sprint network I just updated from version 4.3 to version 4.5. My problem is since I just got my computer back, I had to download Desktop Manager offline. I downloaded version 4.5 (to match the updated version of my phone), but I can't seem to get it to sync up to my phone when I plug it to the usb port. Does anyone have any suggestions?:bb:

When you open up BB DM, try going to Setting>Connections. See if you can detect the USB port.

FYI: you don't need to have the desktop manager version match up with your device OS.

When I open up connection options it shows the USB, but its not detecting my PIN. Thanks for the additional info though- I wasn't aware. I just picked the 4.5 because it was the same one that was listed as my OS, and it had some option for music. I was going to see if it would let me drag the music files from my comp to my phone (Media Manager).

Do you have a microSD card? If so, you can enable mass storage mode (Options>Media Card) and use it like a flash drive when you connect your phone to the computer. Works quicker than media manager (which tends to be a big resource hog).

Yes I do, I'll give that a try. I haven't really gotten past the whole connections option. On my toolbar it shows up two blackberrys right now, one saying Blackberry Device Manager (which is connected), and the other is BlackBerry Desktop Manager (which isn't connected). I didn't have two before, so its possible I may have downloaded the wrong software. I'm not exactly a specialist with blackberry's, I just know the basics. When I got my first 2 blackberry's I had a CD that came with them. This one didn't because I was replacing it on the insurance. Normally it wouldn't be a problem but since my comp had a virus, some of my programs got whiped out.

Okay I'm not sure what I just did but its saying its connected now. I did the Enable Mass Storage Mode and dragged a CD Album over to the music folder and after it updated the folder on my phone, it connected to Desktop Manager. I think now everything's good. I spent the past 2 hours updating my phone after I got it back from the Sprint store. I think I've got everything covered now. I can send picturemail now, as well as open Microsoft Office from the phone.

Awesome. Glad to hear things are working. Now time to enjoy the device!
