Offered with or without a camera. True business phone.

Oops..they just took it off the site, I wonder if it was a mistake or if it will reappear again later. Figures..I waited 2 minutes too long to pre-order.

Nice. Can't wait. I'll be politely asking my favorite IT guy to place the preorder.

Are you doing a pre-order?

Donbp 06-30-2009 06:18 AM

Seems if you have an account with a business discount you can't pre-order it. As soon as you login and try to add a line the tour disappears from the site. If you don't login you can order. The link on the pre-order site that says "purchasing for your business' also brings you to a new page without a pre-order option so I guess it is right. I will try calling them in awhile.

With or without a camera.

Anybody know if this is one of the phones VZ unlocked GPS on? Can't tell from the specs. Just says it's VZ NAV capable.

akosnitzky 06-30-2009 07:24 AM

I read it will be locked

Not surprised. Maybe they will offer an upgrade to the OS to unlock it down the road. Like they are with some WM phones.

The Blackberry.com website says it will work with Blackberry Maps. Hopefully free. I finally got free GPS on my 8830 after upgrading to 4.5. Don't want to lose it again. Although I don't use that much anyway, it's nice to have.

If you want it unlocked just call verizon and tell them your going over seas.

jsconyers 06-30-2009 09:09 AM

I believe they're referring to GPS being locked down as it was on previous models.

SteveO86 06-30-2009 10:04 AM

All BB's after the Storm are suppose to have the GPS unlocked..

As far as existing devices it would be nice to use... Really nice...

My account rep says that the GPS issue is dead and in the past. VZW took a lot of heat about it from customers and he also heard they got a lot of heat from RIM to open it up because RIM touts the GPS as an available feature.

I guess we will see!

Other than Maps it is limited to VZW navigator

On my co-workers 9630, GPS is unlocked, functions just like the rest of the guys GPS does on our 8330s / 8830s (and 9530s).

Yep, my Gov't rep emailed me the 12th as official launch date.......Why a Sunday?
