OS: 8310 4.5.0.297/4.5.0.176 (Multilanguage)

BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.5.0.297 (Multilanguage)

Package Version: 4.5.0.297
Consisting of:

* Applications: 4.5.0.176
* Software Platform: 2.7.0.105
* File name: 8310M_PBr4.5.0_rel297_PL2.7.0.105_A4.5.0.176_Telef onica.exe
* File size: 90.92MB

Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld.

* Download Software:https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...9E92D324F56DE0

Instructions for installing on ANY carrier's 8310:

1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

For the previous OS, see this link: http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...ilanguage.html

I haven't loaded it yet as my 8310 is currently at home.

Yes everything is in Spanish, but the OS is multilanguage, so when you go to install, you can chose English language to be installed, or whatever language you like. :)

Tried to install this 3 times to my wife's 8310 and each time got the error code 561. Lost everything on here phone (good thing I did a backup first) and had to load the previous version back onto the phone.

Update Changes?

First, I would like to say how happy that we have this forum! It's the only place i need to go, to check and get the latest updated OS.(y) I totally appreciate all the hard work that goes into getting us the latest updates.
If i Could so humbly ask, If possible, a list of device changes or performance enhancement for the updated OS be provided with the revision?:idea: However, I wouldn't like to see any delay in getting the latest updates for the 83xx, for that reason. As there is only a little love for us now.

RIM and the carriers have the release notes, and they choose not to release them. No one here has them.

4.5 is the end of the line for the 8300, 8310 and 8320s...

Downloaded and installed with no problems. Functions seem all there and working.

hokie123 11-14-2009 05:56 PM

Bummer, went through screens to download, then got the following message:
Disculpe, el archivo esta temporalmente inaccesible, por favor vuelva a tratar mas tarde o contacte al administrador de web.
(Translation, archive is temporarily inaccessible, please try again later or contact the web administrator!).

Sigh, guess I'll try again later...

Yeah I just tried upgrading my girlfriend's BB and got that same message. I wonder what's going on.

Hi, everyone.

I noticed that 8310 4.5.0.52/4.5.0.37 (Multilanguage) is already available. There couldn't have been that many things to fix since last update can there? Anyone download and install the most recent one yet? Please let me know the differences (if any).

Thanks!

Smokem10 11-17-2009 11:03 PM

I am new so here is a noob question...

I have a BB 8310, it doesn't say anything on the phone that says CURVE. Is there a BB 8310 and BB Curve 8310?

Here is what it says when I go to "About":

Blackberry 8310
smartphone (EDGE)
v4.5.0.110 (Platform2.7.0.90)

so is my version outdated?

Howard S. 11-17-2009 11:19 PM

The BB 8310 is the Curve. And your version isn't outdated at all, in fact it's the version I'm currently using. OS 4.5 is the latest, although there have been a few updates since .110. I wouldn't recommend updating if it's running smoothly for you.

Latest OS is now 4.5.0.180 (302) / 2.7.0.105. Got this by connecting my 8310 to the Mac DTM software.

maeyb13 11-21-2009 08:53 PM

What about the spanish? Where does it say to install in english?
