The "thinking" clock won't stop

I just backed up everything and erased a lot of things from my BB, but the little clock/timer thing that comes up when it's "thinking" is still on a lot and it takes forever to go away.

Is there anything I can do to make it stop? It does this sometimes, and it's annoying.

sometimes its low memory that causes it.
Whats your file free?

ShambledRambler 05-04-2010 03:53 PM

I don't know, how do I check that?

I don't use my BB like most ppl do. I mostly just use texting, Facebook and calling.

I've deleted a lot of things on there, so that shouldn't be the problem.

K, I have 845.3MB of free device mem.

MidnightDraven 05-04-2010 04:39 PM

Try a battery pull and see if that fixes it.

MidnightDraven,

What should the file free memory be? I sometimes have the same prob as poster.

Id say anything below 12mb is bad.
Depending on how much application memory you have to begin with, 20mb is a safer number.

ShambledRambler 05-18-2010 09:29 AM

My file free is 791876 Bytes.

I dont have any extra memory or anything... and I've cleared my phone.

It won't stop happening. I can barely USE my phone because it's continually thinking.

That's quite low! What apps do you have on your phone? Do you have a memory card? Do you store pictures/music on the device memory or the memory card?

ShambledRambler 05-18-2010 11:52 AM

I don't have a memory card, no. I really don't know much about Blackberries.

The apps I have are Facebook, Twitter and the Weather. I have pics on the phone, but I upload most of em to my compiter. And there's no music on my phone.

Are you closing the applications like FaceBook, Twitter and the weather app? Press and hold the ALT key and press and release the Back key to open a pop-up that shows what apps are running. If any other than the main five that you can't close are running use the BB Menu key and choose Close. See if that helps.

Main five you can't close = Home, BB Messenger, Browser, Messages and Phone

Network problems and being in a fringe reception area can also cause the BB to be constantly busy searching for a network signal
