Linked Contact Photo Question

I'm wondering if anyone has come across a way to choose a persistent contact photo for a contact that has numerous linked entries? Obviously within contacts you can choose one and it temporarily appears first in the scroll and appears as that contact's photo in the contacts and phone app. This seems to be not persistent however and it will eventually change back to another of the contact's photos. So far I can't pin down which one it goes back to, whether it's Facebook, LinkedIn, Skype or whichever photo, it appears random to me. It certainly won't stay on the one I choose even if I've added that photo from within the contacts app. I have tried deleting the photos I don't want and narrowing it down to just one but they all come back.

Re: Linked Contact Photo Question

I had multiple contact photos that kept changing based on what linked accounts one (or more) of the contacts were linked to.

I found most of my problems came from Twitter/FB/LinkedIn

Contacts, look for the people(s) who contact photo keep changing, click on their contact. In the menu bar at the bottom of the screen, should be a Link with a small number next to it (Number of linked accounts connected to the contact)

After clicking on that you will see a list of the linked accounts, I bet one of those will have the photo that keeps being attached to your main contact. Delete it or choose [Unlink]

Re: Linked Contact Photo Question

Ok, you're correct as far as the source goes...but what if, for example, I want my outlook contact for Bob Smith linked to his facebook contact yet I don't want his facebook contact photo appearing as the main one on the speed dial screen? Seems odd that I cannot select which photo appears as the default. I'm going to just put this one in the "New OS" pile for now and hope that it will work itself out eventually.

Thanks for the help. :)

Re: Linked Contact Photo Question

I tried to merge most of my multiple contact entries into one large one for each (obviously I couldn't do this for all of them, but it did stop my contacts (some) from being updated by their linked accounts)

You can override the constant updating by choosing a photo from your device's library. So, say Bob Smith's photo you want is his LinkedIn one. Click on his photo and save it to your device or sdcard. Then go in to Pictures and find the photo of Bob. Select the photo and hit the option in the bar below (three dots) and choose [Set As...] Then choose [Contact Picture], you should see your contact open up with all the photos that are linked, and on the top right of each photo is a small x with a circle. Delete all the photos you do not want and leave the one you just added. Hit [Save] and Bob's your uncle.

Re: Linked Contact Photo Question

The way that the photos and linked contacts work is just plain stupid. The legacy OS handled this way better than BB10 does. They broke more than they fixed in certain parts of BB10, and this is one of them IMO.
