Can Receive BBs but Cannot Send Out
Hallo everyone! I am unable to send out bbs. When I send out - it gives the tick sign (that shows just before the Delivery 'D' comes up), but it never turns to D and it stays like that with people who are sitting next to me... I am receiving fine though... Had this problem with my Bold 5 (currently using a Q10- with updated OS & BBM Software), and after a couple of days - everything went back to normal. My Network provider claimed it had been escalated to Blackberry with no feedback. PLEASE HELP!!!!:-( |

Battery pull help?

Re: Can Receive BBs but Cannot Send Out
Don't do a battery pull with BB10 except as last resort.
To OP, what have you tried? I would first shut down the device normally and then start it again. Some take the battery out for a few moments or more after shutting down. Next step if that doesn't fix it is to reset the device by either the method of holding the power button or the method of holding the up and down volume buttons. And if that doesn't work, try deleting and re-adding the contact and/or deleting and re-installing BBM. The last resort would be backing up, doing a security wipe, and just restoring your data (not settings, and not app data) and then doing settings over manually. |

I pull battery every day when I swap to a fully charged one

Ok , I will ask, why not? Is there an issue with the BB10 units? |

In my case I had done a few resets over time using the power button or volume buttons. And I had done some again when a podcast app was hanging when updating. Not battery pulls, just resets using the buttons. I ended up filling my device on board memory and microSD card with lost clusters. But the problem is there is no repair function like in BBOS (at least on 10.1, and maybe there is on later versions). I was able to fix the lost clusters on the card using a computer, but I ended up doing a security wipe on the device and restoring from backup. After the lost cluster episode I started doing normal shut downs and then rebooting when the podcast app hangs. The podcast app works again, and no lost clusters. I now avoid even doing resets using the buttons since I did the wipe and all is fine. Obviously there are others doing battery pulls without harm. I don't think it is necessary. As I say, as a last resort if the device is frozen and you can't reboot or reset, then, yeah, do it, but under other circumstances I believe it may do more harm than good.
