How to delete all messages?

how do you delete messages off the blackberry (messages, and email) all at once, not one by one?

There are a number of ways, covered in manual and the Quick Guide. Give it a read.

Fastest way:

Open e-mail folder.

Scroll with trackball to where you highlight a day/date bar.

Press <menu> key, dotted key to left of trackball.

Scroll and select <full menu> if full menu is not visible and you see the "full menu" on the list.

Scroll to <delete prior>

Click trackball to select

Scroll to <delete>

Press trackball to select and delete all e-mails prior or "below" the date bar.

Bonus Tip: The "delete prior to date bar" option allows you to delete e-mails only below each individual day. This is handy if you have three or fours days of mail and do not want to delete more than one day's mail, for example.

Same trick won't work with Call Log... Any ideas?

From SanFrancisco: "Bonus Tip: The "delete prior to date bar" option allows you to delete e-mails only below each individual day. This is handy if you have three or fours days of mail and do not want to delete more than one day's mail, for example."

I just followed your tutorial and all my messages (couple of weeks) below the date were erased. How do you do it for one day at a time in your bonus tip. Can you walk me through it? Is there an option setting somewhere that I don't see. Thanks in advance for your help.

Any emailxxx8217;s date you choose will erase all PRIOR to it (using the xxx8220;prior to datexxx8230;xxx8221; option). If you need to delete only one email than just click on it and then --> Menue --> Delete.

SF's Bonus Tip was for deleting one day at a time through some menu selection or such. I wasn't asking how to delete one message, but thanks for your response.

You did it correctly. However, you deleted from the top date. You need to scroll to the date that you want everything prior to that date and including that date deleted. Then click menu and select 'delete prior'.

OK. I misinterpreted it. You are working from the bottom up. That's easy to understand. I read the post "...."delete prior to date bar" option allows you to delete e-mails only below each individual day." as being date selective. Thanks for clearing this up.

Or highlight them by holding down the # key and scroll them then delete all highlighted.

I realize it's better English, but maybe they should title the feature "delete below" since this option deletes e-mails below the highlighted day/date bar showing on the screen.
