Hollux GPSlim 240 is little!

Plenty of good reviews out there for the GPSlim 240. But I haven't seen much in the way of photos that show its true size. So here you go--the bt-338 is just there for reference.

My micro-review: It's awesome, though the manual in the box is a joke. This one is a little better.

I just ordered one!! Here's hoping that I don't lose it.
What software do you use for a turn by turn driving directions set up?

spblat 06-02-2007 01:53 AM

First day's use has been great. It gets a decent fix hanging from the ignition in my car. I wrote a review of the Blackberry software options.

I've had mine for about a week and it works very well.

Thanks for the link to the detailed manual! I got one about a month ago -- works great...

I recently ordered one and looking forward to trying it out!

I had the holux 240 for about 6 months and it has worked great with my blackberry 7105t, 7130c, 8100 and even my Palm T3.

chrisb3 06-05-2007 12:08 PM

Will it work with a 7290?

mike1023 07-20-2007 07:44 AM

sweet im going to pick one up to try out, ebay is my friend. does anyone use this with the new google maps 1.5.2?

sabrewulf 07-20-2007 09:15 AM

I'm sure this is smaller.. but I was also surprised with the size of the GlobalSat BT-359 puck.

mike1023 07-20-2007 10:39 AM

that is cool but it also is 2 times as much as the other one.

how do you charge this if not from the laptop? Can you use the blackberry charger? I know the plug fits, but will it fry anything? same amp/voltage?

BB charger works fine, as does the car charger that comes with the GPSlim 240... The car charger also works fine on my BB8100

Could it have anything to do with IT policy? I'm on BES, but wouldn't it NOT allow me to pair if bluetooth GPS was disabled?

After you turn on holux GPS and wait few to 5 min and it will work.

doesnt work... i think it has something to do with the IT policy. I tried everything, yet still nothing

John Clark 08-19-2007 09:15 PM

If IT Policy prevents it (which they can) then you are out of luck. Call your IT department and ask them about it.

Check to see if you have encryption enabled for this device under your bluetooth options. I disabled this and it runs with no complaints.
