BES Administrator -Philadelphia
 

Our Philadelphia area client is looking for a BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) Administrator .

GENERAL SUMMARY: Administers daily and on-going operations, planning, engineering, and resource allocation for the firmxxx8217;s BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) infrastructure. Ensures maximum performance and availability through ongoing monitoring and maintenance of the BES servers, including patching and backup as required. Also provides general database administration duties on SQL databases, and supports the operation of SQL based applications through daily monitoring and maintenance of these databases. Performs liaison duties with other IT groups and with RIM International to monitor and maintain operations and to troubleshoot any operational issues that occur. Communicates any service disruptions as notified by internal staff or external service providers to maintain current status information for all BlackBerry/BES-related services.

Works independently or as part of a team under general supervision.

Researches and resolves technical and operational problems/issues that are complex in nature. Works

extensively with other IT staff, consultants and external service providers.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

· Manages global BES server infrastructure.

· Serves as technical consultant for issues related to BlackBerry/BES systems.

· Provide Level 2 support for help calls involving the firmxxx8217;s BES infrastructure.

· Maintains necessary records and information databases.

· Has day-to-day responsibility for BES-related technical problem resolution, ordering of equipment

and office set-ups.

· Performs general database administration duties on SQL databases.

· Supports the availability SQL based applications.

· Performs general monitoring and maintenance of SQL databases.



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

· Responsible for the identification and resolution of information flow, content issues and the

transformation of business requirements into logical data models.

· Identifies opportunities to reduce data redundancy, trends in data uses, and single sources of

data.

· Maintains global BES server data systems, including the provision of Level 2 BES support.

· Has day-to-day responsibility for BES-related technical problem resolution, ordering of equipment

and office set-ups.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

· Extensive knowledge of enterprise-level BES system administration, operation and management.

· Familiarity with the administration of multiple Exchange servers and their interoperability with BES technology.

· Knowledge of SQL Server utilities, backup systems and maintenance and performance techniques

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

· Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field, or equivalent work experience.

· Typically has 5 to 7 years of IT work experience, with specific experience in BES systems administration for large accounts.
