Default is blocking possible? - 10-29-2007, 02:00 PM

when are wireless providers going to give us the ability to login at their website and maintain a list of phone numbers, IM addresses etc. that we want to block from being aloowed to call us or text us? seems this is a no freakin brainer!

since i cant do this at the AT&T website, is there anyway i can do it on the bb? i see that i can enable the firewall and block ALL sms messages for example, but this isnt what i want?

is it me or doesnt it seem that this functionality should have been available for years now???

I know this may not help you....but if you get a GrandCentral account you can control this..... but then you face the problem of only handing out the Grandcentral #.
If it is solicitors you can put your number on the national do not Call list provided by the Gov't

i have a grand central account and it doesnt help as most of my problem is text messages and emails sent to my phone number that i dont want.

think about it... with 3 or 4 lines of vbscript i can send 2 million texts or emails to your phone and theres nothing you can do about it except pay the bill when you get it.

but it wouldnt be in the providers interest to allow you control this now would it? hhmmm...

Actually it is a limitation of the networks and the different providers. The cost of implementing this block is quite high and at this times outweighs the consumers need to block and individual number. This is a feature that several carriers have looked into implementing but the cost at this point is to high!

Tru you could write a script for something like that likely I wouldn't have to pay the bill research on carriers part. That would be 1 txt for every second of a month.
