Gmail IMAP support Finally!!!! But now get woken up by your spam folder

I've been wanting to get IMAP support from gmail now for a long while. I prefer IMAP for my desktop email application versus POP. For this reason I haven't been using the desktop app for a couple years now. Now IMAP is supported by gmail, great!!! But I have my gmail setup as an account for going to my blackberry. Now I get all the spam messages sent to me at 12:05 am on my phone. I get around 30-40 spam messages a day for that account. Why can't they send them around 7 then I don't have to set an alarm anymore. And there is no point in setting up filters through T-mo since the addresses they get sent from change all the time (already tried that one.) IMAP is beautiful for desktop applications but not so much for the blackberry.
