Default Amazon.com and One Day Shipping - 11-05-2007, 05:04 PM

I have been attempting to order an 8310 for my wife via Amazon.com. I purchased my phone from Amazon without an issue, so I am attempting to see if lightning can strike twice.

Well it can't....

When I ordered the phone on Oct 28 with One Day shipping for $19 I thought that would speed things up. Ya I was wrong. What this really means is Amazon will only ship my order from a distribution center closest to my location (within 1-2 day transit), and then send my purchase out under UPS Standard Ground. The end result is a delay in shipping since I have to wait until there is inventory at the distribution center that matches my order. So even though they billed me for (and had me believe I was receiving) UPS One Day, or Overnight, that is not what I am receiving at all. As it stands now, my estimated delivery date is Nov 14.

After at least 8 calls into Amazon.com and 7 disconnects, I was finally put in touch with a Rep that refunded the $19 and reluctantly confirmed all of the above info.

This may all be old info for Amazon.com veterans, but I thought I would share with the community.

I saw those and was going to post there, but wanted to make a more visible warning to others.

Should have saved yourself the hassel and gone into a corporate store!

Well, like I said the first order went perfect, so I had to try it. Would have thought differently if the first order would have been problematic.

... and this post was more of a warning to others concerning "One Day Shipping".

Well, I saved $225 through Amazon (FREE vs. $225 my price @ AT&T store), although I did go through $98 of Valium.

Next time, I'll get the Valium BEFORE I order my phone from Amazon.
