unplugged once in a while

i mean bb's go down, its on the news, if the net went down, omg the hartache people go through, isnt it great that well once in a while stuff just dont work, and we unplug from all this at your fingertip stuff.?

while yes most buisness become complex when pc's go down etc, isnt it great tho, when we just unplug?

idk to me sometimes it seems to me, that instead of devices, etc making life easier it just ball / chains us.

wabbit, are you a youngster? I'm more than old enough to remember the pre-plugged days. Well, we did have fire, and the wheel, and even radio and TV (all two or three stations, when we twisted the antenna in the right direction). I like it better now.

I still have fond memories of the big antenna on the roof, my family was privlidged I guess. We had the dial console on top of the tv to turn the motorized rooftop antenna toward the tv station.

Really improved that black and white contrast!

Anyways - back to topic - a break once in a while from the tech is nice. I'd prefer to chose the date and time, though....

Heh heh. We had "rabbit ears" on top of the TV, with the occasional tin foil flag wrapped around each antenna to ostensably improve the reception.

I went dry camping in the North Cascade Mountains last August with my wife, daughter and In-Laws. Five days of no running water, no TV, no reception for my Berry. After the first painful 24 hours, it was actually kinda nice.

What was nerve racking was watching the backed up e-mails start coming through on my Berry when I got back in range. It finally stopped at 399.
