Thumbs down Seidio Adaptor Warning!!!! - 03-23-2008, 04:06 PM

I have bought two, 2.5mm to 3.5mm adaptors in the last year and a half. I have been in the music indistry for years and even normal quality cables last many years under normal use. I went through 2 of the Seidio adaptors in 1.5 years! When I contacted them they couldn't help (cable waraanty is only 180 days). I did get an offer of 10% off my next purchase, but never got back to me. Very disappointed. Thank God RIM is offering one. I just ordered it. I'm sure it will be better than the Seidio product

what happened to your cables? any audio cable can develop shorts in the cables. the more stress its under (do you put it in the pocket, have it on your hip? so the cable gets bent) the more likely it is to break. not trying to say what you said is false, just more curiousity on what happened.

I have two adapters from Seidio that I got over a year ago and they both still work.

I believe they were shorts in teh cable. Yes, I put it into my briefcase, but nothing to go through two of them. Unlucky I guess. I tried to reason with Seidio after the second one went bad, but no luck :(

I use the one from my nokia 5300!
Haha I'm cheap, and it's worked for over a year now

I have a bunch of 1/4" to 3.5mm adapters too thanks to my dad...now THOSE are useful!

Hmm...
If they are causing problems, try another brand? I'm sure you can find them somewhere else?

Yay for being WAY to distracted too miss my internet!

I go through items like this quick. I am hard on them. My iPod headphones get swapped about every 6 months.
