Ordering from http://cnn.cn takes too long!!! -
04-09-2008, 10:09 PM
I ordered three red faceplates for my Curve 8320 over a week ago from Cellular Accessories - Acer, Accessories Store, 3G, Nokia, Mobiado, BenQ-Siemens, Alcatel, SonyEricsson and they're just now shipping it out and that will take another 7-10 days. I don't know if I'll order from them again just to save some money. I don't like waiting that long!

I have ordered twice from them and they have always shipped next business day... first time I got it 4 day shipping from them cheaper then the shipping was in my own conutry and second time just used the regular airmail and still got it in about 8 days... not bad for travelling 1/2 way around the world (or just about) and both times the products were fantastic.

This is the explanation I got about why it was taking so long this morning. Remember, I ordered it on April 1st, today is the 10th. Note: the 8th over there is the 9th here.
Hello Jack,
It was sent to the post office on the 8th and they’re processing to have it sent out of the country as we speak.
There were a few factors that contributed to the delay.
1. The long weekend from the 4th – 6th of April
2. A screw mount issue with the Curve faceplates that needed to be resolved by RIM
3. The backlog of orders from the Easter weekend which has still not been cleared
Normally processing time for an order is no more than 2 business days, but ever since the Chinese New Year we’ve basically been trying to play catch up with a shorthanded staff. Let me know if there’s anything I can do in regards to your order for the delay and I’ll see what I can do.

Think that they'll use that excuse in April? If they do, I wanna see it!
I do agree though, 10 days to ship is a little crazy! Atleast you got some explination though I guess. Full of excuses or not, it helps just a little I'd say

It took them 10 days BEFORE they even shipped it! By the time I get it it will have been 20 days!!! That is NOT RELIABLE!!!
I would have accepted 10 days without complaining, but 10 days before even shipping... C'mon!

Two more emails I got from Cellular Accessories - SonyEricsson, NEC, Motorola, Nokia, Panasonic, Sanyo and Samsung. Quality housing, keypads, LCD screens, chargers, batteries, data cables, parts. At least they are communicating.
Hi Jack
There really is no excuse, our normal processing times are 2 business days maximum with 7-10 business day transit time by registered airmail. With all the things going on recently, we have been really behind, plus a major lack of staff. Our usual shipments these days are over 300 orders by registered airmail, not counting the expedited orders.
We are trying to hire more staff to remedy this problem, but at the moment we have to do the best that we can.

Jack
We’ve been seeing improvements with USPS recently with some orders arriving as quick as the 4th or 5th business day.
Also, USPS has a new tracking system so you’ll be able to see roughly where the parcel is. I checked your parcel and it is already on the plane to the States.

It probably means that they know that they dropped the ball and are trying to make up for that.
