Default GMail and 2-way sync - 05-27-2008, 11:37 AM

I still cannot believe that Yahoo has better 2-way sync with BB than GMail. It drives me nuts that GMail IMAP does not manage 2-way sync for read status and deleted items.

This knowledgebase article outlines what I'm talking about:
BlackBerry Search Results

Yes, I know I can use the GMail downloaded mail app (Which is what I do). But, I miss the integrated mail support with full 2-way sync capabilities. I wish Google or RIM would get on this and do something about it.

I wouldn't use the IMAP setup for GMail. Use POP. It does two way reconcile for deletes but not reads. I tried IMAP and it didn't do anything any better than POP and it gave me the 15 minute delay.

Well, really, 'reads' is my rant. For someone like me who switches back and forth between computer and BB, it's frustrating!

if you want better "sync'ing" between your blackberry and your gmail account...just download the Gmail application and use that in conjunction with the BIS gmail account that you have. i do that, and i am able to manage everything very well
