i might...but i like the centralized design of an operating system better than the decentralized chaos of a modular operating system like unix or android...i just prefer to have better control over my system's non-essential functions that waste precious resources

and some people are trying to do put android on the storm...we'll see if they can get it to work...very unlikely because RIM won't release the hardware specs and such...if they did it could be done much much easier

Freedom Universal Bluetooth Keyboard - ShopCrackBerry

It's pretty sweet. It has a stand to place the storm in landscape mode and turns it into a pretty nice computer-like interface with a 3.5" touchscreen.

I had a little trouble at first with the Bluetooth, but now it works great. I'm still trying to get all the extra features working, but most of everything advertised works. (talking about the shortcut keyboard commands)

It folds up pretty compactly, but it is a little big for the pocket, so I just keep it with me for business meetings and that type of thing. It's the perfect interface to my Storm to make it more accessible for editing office documents since my fingers are huge and they don't have SureType enabled for the landscape mode yet.

I've was looking at that keyboard when I signing up for some classes. Since I didn't want to take my barely portable 17 inch laptop with me, but all the bad reviews and $100 price tag steered me away, I have no problem paying $100 bucks for it as long it works.

Do you find it reliable/useful enough?

I have one of the Freedom Keyboard I used with my 8700 and 8310, haven't since, but it is a nice addition when you need it for extended keyboard work.

Cool, I'm definitly going to have to re-consider buying it again.

My big concern was buying it for my Curve (8330), and then upgrading to a newer device (Ie. Bold/Storm) and finding out the keyboard is not compatible, but since I know it is I may get this in the near future, and push my laptop further away.

yeah the $100 is a lot...wish it was about half of that....

i'd say it's pretty decent...the battery life has been good for me...i use it on an occasional basis when i'm not on the go, but i don't have a computer...an airplane/airport scenario, business meeting....that type of thing

it has a battery saving feature which is useful to save the battery life...i have not checked the range on it, but i felt that really wasn't very important since i'd always have my BB essentially right there at all times when using it

it's benefits for typing are tremendous especially if you are going to type many emails or office documents like notes from a meeting or something like that...other people will envy you for not having a laptop but this cool new device that looks like a mini-touch screen computer

if the price was $50, i'd say get it in a heartbeat, otherwise it's not worth it unless you really foresee yourself typing a bunch on your phone in such a situation

just thought about something though, they had a specific driver for my model, so if you are using it on another model, you might want to double check it's compatibility for your device model and current OS version that you are using...i think i downloaded the driver from freedom's website, but i forgot now
