Default BlackBerry STORM The WORST MISTAKE in ur life - 03-27-2009, 06:35 PM

To every one i want to tell that i buy STORM ,this was the WORST MISTAKE IN MY LIFE.Now i will explein why i put my BB storm in the trashbarrel on his 2cond day and now i use HP Pocet PC and why i dont want to hear anything again about BB and his STUNNING operating system.

1.st i want to say that i develop internet sites -i need flash player ,but there is no FLASH PLAYER for BB
2. i use SKYPE a lot ....There is no GOOD Skype for BB (fring)
3. NO WI-FI -"smart phone year 2009" without Wi-fi,wi fi is good if you have skype ,you can connect and talk FREE ,but...you dont need wi-fi cuz u dont have skype support
4.no good document manager
5. Problems with bluetooth -cannot send me files
6.dos not support subtitles for films ,i need to put them with divx encoder-dos not work ....when i up the film on BB "there is UN supported version"
7. and a lot more ....

I think BB Storm is 1 ultra mega modern touch pad and nothing more.i forget you can read your E-mail on BB....and ....nothing more
if u think that i am not correct see what REAL SMARTPHONES can do ....or Pocket PC ,try HP,HTC ,Or something what is supported from GOOD FREE software .
So on final I want to ask BB developers "WHAT SMART HAVE BB Storm" smart than NOKIA ,IPhone, HTC ,HP ....Vodafone say :"thanks" to stupid ppl in the world who belive on ur products and buy it ,because when they touch Pocket pc or REAL SMART phone your phones will go to hell.

I will never understand why ppl buy ur products and why you have so much %share on the market for smart phones ,when you dont make SMART phones.

If you like your thread, you might watch your language. Also, the Storm is a poor example of a BlackBerry. Try a Curve 8900 or Bold.

No good developer (especially one targeting mobile devices) leans on Flash like that. Period.

Yeah, there is. It's called UMA.

User error. If it doesn't work with drag-and-drop, it will with the bundled software.

The BlackBerry Storm was a direct response to the iPhone. It is for young crowds that don't NEED a BlackBerry or any other smartphone. They want a big touchscreen with chrome accents that they can wave around and operate with one finger. Anyone who really needs a smartphone uses a BlackBerry.

Actually the Bluetooth problems are not just limited to the Storm. BB owners in general find it to be hit-or-miss.

Hmm... I've had an 8100, an 8320, and an 8900. No problems here. What is the issue?

It does come with spell check. Just tried it out in my note pad and that works. Its not an active checker like MS Word.

Of course, the OP believes that this forum is owned or operated by Research in Motion, hence the repeated references to "ur products".

WOW THIS GUY JOINS A BLACKBERRY FORUM TO RANT AND RAVE ON HOW BAD THEY ARE??? Most people that are dependant on certain features on a phone to make their job actually work probably would do the research on the features the phone provides. Not a fair statement to say that BB's in general are crap. Do some research like the 90% of us do so in the future you would NOT get yourself in a situation like this. This whole thing could have been avoided with just like 10 minutes of research. No sympathy for you!

Also try to remember that no matter what features it may/may not have, it is still basically & primarily a cell phone. Having all those other little bells & whistles is a nice perk, but it's still a cell phone. If you want to have all those other features work flawlessly, then you made the right move.
But in the future, when you shop for something, do as others here have suggested, and do some research. I mean, if you were buying a car, wouldn't you do just that.

.............just my 2 cents worth.

Peace,

Kamau

...and this is the reason I moved from a Windoze mobile smartphone to a blackberry.
I had several windoze based smartphones before moving to a blackberry, and I was very happy with the HTC devices.
My only problem was they SUCKED as phones.
They had crappy battery life, and trying to dial them without your undivided attention usually ended up in a disaster....dialing the wrong number, calling Korea, or just hitting way too many damn buttons and getting nowhere.

The Blackberry just works.
It works good as a phone, decent as a calendar, the contact manager doesn't suck, and the email is perfect.

If you need a Blackberry buy a blackberry....if you need to "do whatever the hell you said with flash, and invent the internet" buy a Laptop and a skype headset from Woot.

I wonder if our friend here uses his skype while he's on the move? which again befuddles me, wouldn't you just rather pick up the phone and make the call? although.. unless the person he's trying to reach is in the north pole with no phone coverage.. then i can see skype making sense. (said with a dead serious face).

And you've made the BB a he? aww :(

Hmmm...so if I get one it'll replace 20 years of staying together for the kids as the worst mistake in my life? Sign me up.

Kidding. Sometimes the most terrible thing I think up is also the funniest. I feel like that's a cry for help, possibly.

In all seriousness, the letters 'Y' and 'O' are suffering a tragic recession of use on internet forums across the English speaking world.

Ur was a city in Mesopotamia, not a word in the English language.

After doing RESEARCH I decided the storm was right for ME. Please buy a laptop and a regular cell phone, then go join the laptop manufacturer web forum and go complain about it.

Three vampires walk into a bar. The first vampire orders a pint of blood, the second vampire says he will have the same, the third vampire orders a pint of plasma. The bartender looks at them and says, "Let me get this right, 2 bloods and a blood lite."
Thanks Antar.

Not exactly a glowing endorsement. That said, why settle for just "decent" and "doesn't suck" when there are other, better options out there. And while Blackberry email is good it certainly isn't "perfect" especially when on a BIS.

i don't think this is entirely true, the Storm isn't really a device pointed at apple's iphone. it's a device pointed at blackberry enthusiasts who also want touch screen ability...

regarding chrome, i hate it, but the Storm's is sort of toned-down, so it doesn't bother me too much....chrome is something Apple really digs....

i doubt that the Storm is for those that "...don't NEED a Blackberry...", why would anyone, in their right mind, commit to any kind of contract or spend 530 retail for this device when they don't need it to be a blackberry ?

imo, there are plenty of idiots out there that are itching right this second to go buy the iphone sans contract, dropping upwards of what most ppl are willing to spend for a flat-screen TV !, but for an iphone ? i can see how a Storm is worth 500, but any iphone of any capacity is not worth the money they ask for it. i can use an iphone/ipod touch for a few weeks and then get sick of it (i've done so, i know)....but i can use a blackberry for months and never get sick of it.

only in verizon's 'mind'.....

i never heard or read about RIM going on record to say this phone is [in any way] an attempt to compete with or take some market share from the iphone....but leave it to the misguided and rumor starters to pave that road.

Your right, it may have not been RIM intention, but Verizon certainly treated it as such.
