Wirelessly posted (Hey I'm cool…)

Ok here is a rant I have with att. When I got my new Bold and BlackBerry data plan with att their selling point is that att has the fastest 3G network on the market… well I only get EDGE in my area but pay the same amount as everyone else, I complain is that it would be nice if they would knock a few bucks off my bill since I do pay for it but att doesn't have 3G in my area. Is this reaonable? Is it a good complaint to reach them by email or go to my att store here and complain or is it a lost cause?

Lost cause.
You're not paying for 3G specifically. You're paying for data, in whatever "flavor" you have available to you.

Data cost was the same prior to 3G! There was rumor of a cost increase for 3G but that never happened! Continue the wifi use man

I think that if you really thought it was a big deal, you wouldve looked at the coverage map as well.. And I agree.. If you're at home, wifi ftw!!

Dacy - Lets trade places. When my Bold is indicating 3G that means the likelyhood of dropped calls and browsing timeouts has increased 100 fold. If there was a way to force onto Edge I'd do it

Yea, your more of less paying for a data connection, the quality however is up to the situation. :(

For the first time I feel the future might hold something different for me. It's possible I'm fooling myself but I'm willing to take the risk.
