Red face My good 'ole 8800 - 06-30-2009, 05:29 AM

Today will be our last day together, for wednesday your replacement will be arriving. We've had some ups and downs but all in all, you've treated me well. Remember all those damned OS upgrades and downgrades? I don't think we ever did get those completely sorted out, did we? HA HA HA! And the hours spent on customer service trying to get AIM to work?! Oh the memories. You'll always have a place in my heart.

Making a call on the 8800 was about as comfortable as holding a brick. Too wide and blocky. I was not a big fan on the 8800 series.

I used the term Pop-Tart

But that's why I mainly used a BT back then

I liked my 8800, except that it was never quite comfortable in my hand or in a pocket. Just a wee bit big and blocky and awkward for my taste. When the 8300 came out, I was thrilled, because it seemed like the perfect form factor. The 8900 is even better, perfecting the already excellent 8300 form factor. 8800 was nice -- but the ergonomics just weren't right with that phone...

I used the phone almost exclusively for email, txt and web browsing so I like the wide keyboard. Hopefully I won't find it too hard to use the 8900. I also really like the weight of the device.

It may not have been the most comfortable phone, I will admit I still type faster on the my 8830 then I do on my 8330, I still believe the Keyboard on that thing is amazing.
(Once you get use to it of course, but I was able to type of that with one hand w/o looking)

I agree. too wide, and I have big hands and it was still too wide to be comfortable.
