Default he man woman haters != cool - 06-30-2007, 08:37 PM

- begin rant -

In conjunction with my old thread about hating the loss of grammar (the 'u' for 'you' thread), another thing I hate in forums are misogynistic followup posts to threads. I can walk through the forum and point out members, but you probably know who they are anyways. To be fair it's not just here, it's everywhere - in fact it's much less here on BBF as a more professional webboard.

If you don't understand what I mean:
http://encyclopedia.tfd.com/Mysogynistic

Secretly I think these people feel threatened in some way, but I'll never be able to truly understand why.

- end rant -

From what I've seen, probably a little of both (mysogeny and macking). Although I agree with rivvie, there is less of that here than in many places.

I agree. This is a much more "adult" thread (in the sense that most are professionals, not as in XXX). While I am sure there is both macking and misogyny going on, it is far less than in other sites.

I'd be curious to see some examples of woman hating on here.

Personally I'm against finger-pointing (so to speak), so I won't provide any examples because they could easily be traced back to the poster; not my intention with starting this thread, I was merely expressing an opinion. Others may feel different.

Clarification: hate is a strong word; to me I am reading the "...justifies and maintains the subordination of women by men" out of the definition, referring to that as things I see posted. Outright hatred - which there may be for all I know - is not what I was intimating.

I just haven't seen what you're talking about on this forum and I'm curious.

Like Bruce said, this forum has a lot more adults, so there shouldn't be much of that going on.
