T-Mobile changing price plans? -
07-19-2007, 02:45 PM
From the counter on the T-Mobile website, it appears they are changing the $39.99 plan for 1000 anytime minutes and unlimited nights and weekends. does anyone know anything about this and what the plan is being changed to?

I'm responding to an old question here but TM offers the 'Get More Plus' plan which is 1000 anytime minutes PLUS unlimited nites and weekends for $39.99. They offered it to me but you have to sign for 2 years. Not that I don't plan on staying with TM but there's just something about locking in for 2 years so I haven't committed yet. As far as I can see on the website, that plan is still offered tho.

I used to be on that plan. They bring that plan back every now and then. It's a promotion, which on t-mobile, promotional plans require re-signing of your contract. Its always for a "limited" time. You can pretty much sign to any "regular" plan anytime and not have you contract re-signed, its only promotional (for a limited time) plans.
I actually got the 1500min + unltd ngts & wnks for $49.99/mo. That was a while ago and I haven't seen it since. Great plan and I will prob never switch from it unless something comes out to save me money.

Guess I'll respond to this thread in the event that someone wonders what all this is about.
Back in 2004 or so I signed up for T-MO with the BB 7100t. The plan I got was the $39.99 for 1000 minutes, nights and weekends free.
About a year later I changed plans but did not like it, so I wanted to go back to the old 1000 minutes, 39.99 etc. T-MO said that plan was promotional, so it was not available.
I then kept watching every T-Mo commercial to see when they would offer that plan again. It took two years, to June-August 2, 2007 for it to show up again. I immediately went in, renewed or extended my contract to two years [I love T-MO so I have no problem extending contracts. Plus, if I really need to get out, I will simply pay the early termination fee which in the overall scheme of things is not that much money].
The reason they had the most recent offering was to combat the iPhone's debut. Once the commotion died down, they took away the plan. Now they are back to the 600 minutes for $39.99, nights and weekends free.
I am so happy to have got that plan back. It was ridiculous to have to pay attention for two years to T-MO commercials to see when the plan would pop up again.

That's the exact plan I have, an absolute deal! All of these crazy places with roll-over minutes and in-network calling. Useless rubbish to me - I use my phone for business, so I call lots of different places, lots of time, and rarely have a whole bunch of minutes left over to be useful on any kind of roll-over plan.
There's definitely never been a month I used less than 1,000 of my 1,500 minutes. Add on my unlimited $20 BB plan and I'm quite happy.
By the way, tight sig.

haha thanks. Sig is kinda old, haven't updated here.
Ya I got that, plus the BB plan obviously, also added unlimited text for $14.99 and M2M for $6.99. I also have 100 bonus minutes.
I've only gone over ONCE, and it was like 84 mins. But normally i'm around 1600 mins (plan + 100 bonus). But right now its a lot slower so i'm using around 1150 mins (after using up the bonus). The M2M really helps. I use about 300 of those every month.

Wow, well you call more than me because I don't pay for M2M and still come in under my 1500. You're using around 2000 minutes on the busiest month according to my calculations: 1500+100+84+300 = 1984. (Wow, coming up with 1984 is just as coincidental as it gets...) You wouldn't happen to be a Mac user would you?
A lot of my family is finally on T-Mobile. If I wanted to save some minutes on my plan, I could easily do it by switching on M2M, but right now I don't have to - yet another benefit that T-Mobile has over the other guys... Pay only for what you need, and get the best monthly price. I can't imagine how much money a month I'd be paying to Nextel for my phone and Blackberry at this point!

yup and all this for about $100 after tax. I love it, been with these guys since 2002. And i've worked for every carrier and never bothered switching over to an employee plan. Normally i'll just get an extra line just to use and show customers and when i leave the thing is disconnected. Ok, well I do have 2 sprint demo lines right now which NEVER see use. Their actually sitting in a box now with the power off cause I just sold my Sprint store, which i'm happy its GONE. It's a shithole selling sprint and I feel sorry for sprint customers (sorry for the sprint bashing).
But now that I think about it, prob working for tmo was the happier days of my life. LOL.

i came to tmo cause they don't require you to get a data pkg with a smartphone ... it's optional ... after my pda crapped out on me ... life was a little hectic ... and it was when the pda was working also ... carrying two device with you .... so anyways, i wanted to stay with alltel but in order to get alltel's smartphone, you have to get the data pkge ... i don't need it ... i'm on the net all day long and by the time the weekend hits .... i'm sick and tired of the net so i don't even have the net at home ... plus a few places around me has free wifi so i can alway go there for something quick ...
all in all, tmo is pretty cool ... i'm pretty happy with them ... like i said, i got the 1000 minutes, unlimited nights.weekend for 40 ... so my bill will be about $20-25 less then when i was with alltel ... same plan specs ... just less with tmo ...
