Thumbs up iPhone no longer exclusive to AT&T - 08-24-2007, 02:11 PM

I know many of you don't like the iPhone, nor do I. However, I found this funny and there is a video as well.

it was bound to happen now one has to wonder what kind of support will it receive and how functional will data be? Will apple redesign to try and prevent this?

Default They May Need to Redesign for Other Reasons - 08-24-2007, 07:24 PM

I spoke to one of my friends who has an iPhone and he has already had to get it replaced due to the phone portion failing. He said that he was told that there has been quite a few failures of the touch screen and now you can get a refurbished iPhone for $ 100 less than new. Sounds like the high initial price may be to pay off warrenty issues.

Anyone else have any feedback? I am in Houston and work near the Galleria Apple store so that is where the input came from.

Beautiful! I wonder why corporations aren't yet comfortable with the iPhones security features.

Once they do start to sell the software to do it, I bet it won't cost cheap. I bet they will charge you an arm and a leg for their unlock software.

And more than likely, there will be people lining up to buy it.

I kinda enjoy seeing this, getting tired of AT&T trying to monopolize phones to get subscribers.

The iPhone is a joke. Old technology packaged up with nice eye candy in a new box.

I understand that this is a BlackBerry forum and that 99.9% of the people here will share a common bias. BUT, I dare anyone to give me any compelling argument to support a decision to fork out several hundred dollars for this thing.

Between the Curve and the iPhone, there is simply no comparison.

I can't wait for my TMo Curve.

Beastie, my avatar, has been forced (against his will) to hold an iPhone at the end of his fork.....

Umm.... Change that to a chicken salad sandwich now...

For those who attempted to unlock the iphone, it can end up being a disaster.

Getting a unlocked iphone seems like a waste because I was looking for a unlocked one to use on tmobile and most of them stated that you can't upgrade the firmware at all or take the chance of the iphone relocking to at&t.

You guys who hate the iPhone are just jealous. How long did it take the BB to become the nifty gizmo it is now? Apple, in a few months has intro'd sophisticated (and flawed) device that is a few months/to a year away from being dynamite. It won't have the BBs patented e-mail system anytime soon, but it excels as an first-of-its-kind handheld that's easy to use -- and no one can say that about he BB and its verbose menus and counterintuitive UI.

Oh yeah, the next firmware update from Apple will likely undo the hack.

How is the BB's UI counterintuitive? I've always found it quite simple and intuitive.

Obviously, you've never or rarely used a Macintosh computer or it's newly born handheld Internet offspring. It's pretty evident.
