Everything is encrypted before it touches a RIM server. They couldn't do anything if they wanted to.
This is a BS fear mongering article

Maybe it's just me but in reality did that story even say anything. If I could make money writing stories about "What if......." wow I would be rich. I own a network security company and am very keen to what can and can not be done. I also know that companies wanting to protect data while using BES can use encryption and private keys of thier own. So again I am not sure what was try to be told to us in that story.

Please rest assured that your secret Oatmeal Cookies will still be a family secret.

Are you saying that the friendly people over at the NSA cannot read messages on BlackBerrys? I ponder and wonder. Rather unlikely I'm afraid.

Always less than expected.
And now unimproved for 2008.

My thought exactly. That journalist is probably down on his page view stats. Some sites pay journalists and bloggers on the number of page views.

Not sure on the strenght of encryption but after 9/11 the us could freely wiretap etc, what is funny is that this year they tried to add data comm to it and it was denied so idont belive they could.

Totally unnecessary to intercept BB messages. NSA just reads your brainwaves and the person that is receiving your message. no need for decryption.

And of course, I am kidding (or am I, hmm......)
