Default 8830 with BES for Exchange - 10-19-2007, 12:17 PM

Hi,

Is there anyway to delete all the messages that are on the phone at once, instead of going one at a time?

Also i use the phone with BES for Exchange and it seems that messages that are routed to other folders using rules, are not being synchronized on the phone. Any workaround or solution for this?

Thanks much

Scroll to the most recent date bar, click your BB Menu Button and select "Delete Prior" from the menu list.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry7130e/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

As for your other question: hard delete reconciliation must be enabled on your BES.

Hard delete support/reconciliation is generally for mail moved to a PST or permanently deleted (deleted but not going to Deleted Items).

I think that costas just meant that mail that Outlook Rules move to sun-folders on the Innox are not getting to the device. To fix this add the redirection of these folders under:
Messages app > Options > Email Settings
Make sure your BES service book is selected. It is called Desktop by default.
Then press the Menu button and select Folder Redirection.
Expand the Mailbox. Expand the Inbox.
Put a check mark beside all folders that you want redirected to your BlackBerry.
Keep in mind that your BB email filters still apply.

Default Enabling Hard delete reconciliation on BES. - 10-24-2007, 06:04 AM

Good Day all,

I came across this article by DJChew and thought it might be of some help in resolving my synchronisation issues with the BES.

When emails are archived into pst files in outlook, they are still displayed on the blackberry device whereas when they are deleted, they are deleted off the deviceafter synchronising.

I am using BES ver 4.1.4.12 but cannot find the settings to enable hard reset reconciliation on the server.
Any ideas?

ninomarques,
To enable hard delete support do the following:
-Open BlackBerry Manager.
-In the Explorer view, click Server.
-On the Server Configuration tab, click Edit Properties, then click Messaging.
-For the Hard Deletes Reconciliation option, choose True from the drop-down menu.
-Restart the BlackBerry Enterprise Server services.

See RIM KB04853 for more details:

Thanks a lot for this DJChew. I would need to raise a change request in order to alter this setting as it is in a live environment and currently set to false.
Are there any other implications or side effects that the users might experience as a result of me enabling this setting or that I might be aware of?

Regards,

Nino

Hard Delete Reconciliation has a customizeable limitation. The default is the last 100 messages for each user.

Hard Delete Reconciliation will allow the BES to reconcile moves to PST and Hard Deletes (skipping Deleted Items, or emptying Delete Items)

Nothing else I can think of. Wouldn't hurt to read the documentation on it. I am sure the 4.1 Admnistation Guide should cover it.
