Lahupe, welcome to the forums.

Are you using a corporate BlackBerry on a BES (BlackBerry Enterprise Service)?

Please be patient. Yes, people here are working with Office 2007, I don't see how that question helps your situation.

I am not familar with MS Exchange. I hope another user here will see your question and respond.

Default Brief summary - 10-26-2007, 06:59 PM

Thanks for your replies, and sorry for my lack of patience.
Actually I am working on XP.

As I said in the beginning, I am very satisfied with my BB curve. I used to have a Nokia 6233 before and synch was simple and efficient : synch via Bluetooth with Outlook 2007/MS exchange. Quick and easy.

I travel a lot in my job, so I need to have calendar and contacts perfectly updated on my device (no paper).

Since I got the BB, knowing that direct synch appears not possible until now, the only way I found yet is much more complicated : 1/ synch old Nokia with outlook/MS Exchange at work 2/ synch Nokia with mac at home using Phone Director, 3/ synch BB with mac using pocketMac. So I am sure you understand that I need to sort this out asap...

And it is very difficult to find any help doing a synchro with BB/Outlook 2007/MS exchange Believe me I spent hours searching...

Many thanks in advance for all your help.

Lahupe

Where exactly does it crash? What are the steps you take, from opening the Desktop Manager to the crash.

What versions of desktop manager?

Does your Outlook profile have Cached Exchange Mode turned on?
This used to be a problem with the Desktop Manager. It should not be anymore, but it would not hurt to try turning it off and then try to setup PIM sync, to see if it helps.

Hi, saw your thread and was just curious.
Do you use a separate address book or an address book which is not in the usual Outlook folder?

I see. Does it crash when you select other options like Lotus Notes or Outlook Express? Contacts folder or address book might be locked by another process?

No it crashes only when I try to select outlook; the other applications seem fine. I don't have any outlook express choice.

Lahupe- explain how/why you're using MS Exchange. Are you set up in a business network environment? It seems clear that your configuration is different from just about everyone else on this board. And it may be that the way you're trying to set up the BB is not compatible...just a thought.

All right, I can try to clarify it.

I have my BB at work. All staff (10 guys) is using MS Exchange and MS Office Entreprise.
2 of us are using a BB : the other one with Office 2003 - synch is operating well. Myself with Office 2007 : crash. And I cannot get back to 2003.

My external IT services provider has been successful settling the 2 BB but has no idea how to solve my synch pb with outlook 2007.

Have to tried a new Outlook/MAPI profile?

They often become corrupt. I have taked to Microsoft about it and they have never beeen able to determine why a new one would need to be created, but it fixes a lot of issues.

Try upgrading to DM4.3. I use DM4.3 with Outlook 2007 on an Exchange 2007 server with XP Pro SP2 and a BB Pearl 8130 with no problems.
