Default BB Yahoo Messenger 2.0 - 10-24-2007, 05:14 PM

Looks like they have added some of the missing desktop features to the new Yahoo Messenger for the Blackberry. From a quick look, here's what is new.

-- Shows a persons avatar (if they have one)
-- You can now communicate with Windows Live Messenger contacts (seemed a little slow in sending messages, but it works)
-- You can control who sees you online directly from Yahoo Messenger in the Blackberry.
-- Couple new emoticons

Just saw it also does file sending as well, trying it out now.

Yes, I just upgraded and now it no longer works for me either. Oh well my GT does and my Jivetalk does.

So, a little more trouble than what I wanted. But YM wouldnt work after loading, although it showed in the application list as installed. I could not find any icon to start up the program and kept getting 'Uncaught exception java.lang.error' after each restart. I wiped the device, once reloaded and back up, I downloaded YM again and works fine now. Not sure why it wouldnt work in the first place?

Another new feature is a setting in options to show conversations in message list.

Now, we just need a BlackBerry with all of the existing service books to download/install this, add the service book to the device, and make us a nice little .ipd file with all o' the books. :D Any takers?

If you can see them on the desktop, you should be able to see them on the BB. I am able to see mine.

I'd also love to see some service books for this one. I wonder why it changed for this but not GTalk?

I'm able to see my windows live contacts in BB yahoo messenger BUT and that is strange for me, I can't see what they are typing to me, I just see "Contact name is typing..." I think is a bug, can anyone confirm this?
I make a precision, yahoo contacts can write to me and it's works without problems.

That is exactly the problem that I have now after installing YM2. Don't really want to wipe everything, but it worked for you, and I did a backup last night, so I guess it's worth a shot.

I cant believe it isnt working on AT&T. Any idea why or how to make it work? Who to contact?

I am sure Tech support wont do anything since they dont have to service it!

Today I am seeing same problem. When I log out and log back in I get an offline message from them. Had no trouble yesterday, today is another story.

This happens for me. I can see MSN contacts and they can see me. They get my messages ok but i do not get theirs unless i logout and log back in again.
