Is this going to be part of OS 4.3?

Lookling at that page, what am I missing? All those features are available now, as far as I can tell. I must be missing something.

Haha, I guess that I thought we were getting a new browser, but I guess its the same old one.

Well, we might be, I don't know. Are they pushing something there new that I am looking right over? Really, all those highlighted features (call from , page view, desktop view, etc., are current.

It's the one I have on my 8130.

"Try the Zoom In/Out feature to go from the big picture to specific areas. For example, while you're looking at an online newspaper, zero in on top headlines, the football scores, TV listings or classified ads, just by clicking. There's now no need to scroll." This would be a new feature that I would welcome.

Looks new to me, switch back and forth between desktop view and page view to access new features. Unless of course it's been there all along and I was blind. That's always possible.

I don't think it IS new, I think they're simply referring to the "Page Overview" and "Desktop View" options. With Page Overview, you get the split screen on the right with the arrow cursor, allowing you to navigate immediately to a different section of the web page.

The new browser is improved from what I have seen on my Curve. There is a dedicated option to switch browsers now...they is a dedicated page that shows your address bar and your history / favourites. It's very Opera Feeling now...and Nokia looking when you get to the page.

Okay, I'll bite, where did you get this new browser? The email from Blackberry Connection didn't include a link.

There are no new "features" persay...it's more organizational and interface.

Yeah, been able to go to desktop view for a while. and even the zoom out view too, zoom out is very grainy and nasty tho :/

For those of us stuck on 4.1, our browser does not have these features. I have a 7250 and am stuck with what I got. I can use Opera which does have these features, though.

Those features are already in the BB browser for everyone who has a 8xxx BB, I believe. If you're not seeing them, try changing up your browser configuration.

For example, these are my settings. Those in parentheses I use to keep my fonts as small as possible.

Options > Browser Configurations:

Emulation Mode: Blackberry
Content Mode: WML & HTML
(Support Style Sheets - Off)

Options > General Properties:

Default Browser: Internet Browser
Default View: Desktop
(Font: System, 6, 6, Plain)

You'll need to play with your browser settings awhile, especially the emulation mode and the default browser and view, until you find what suits you best.

I read and re-read the e-mail, and checked all the links included in this issue of BlackBerry Connection. It sure reads like there's a new browser out there somewhere, but RIM sure isn't clear about it.

What ever happened to silly little things like version numbers and stuff?

And I agree with the various other replies - all of these features appear to be included in the browser on my 8800. Why, then, did RIM see the need to tell us about these "new" and exciting features after we've been using them for months?

Odd stuff. Is there some alternative Canadian 'April Fool's Day' I don't know about? I mean, they've got that kooky Boxing Day and all...

I think the "new" browser, that is not new to some of us, could be included in an OS update. Since I don't know all the OS versions of those posting in this thread, it could be a difference between OS version 4.2.1 and 4.2.2, or even 4.1 to 4.2. Just a guess, or it could from a BIS update>
