Please Login to Remove!

I have a blackberry perl 8100 and I have no desktop softwear what so ever, up untill now I didn't know this phone had so many options. My question is what softwear am I suppose to have. Thanks in advance.

The software you need depends on what you plan on doing with the device.
You might no need any software. What are your goals?

The typical user will install Blackberry Desktop Manager.
You can download that for free from blackberry.com

Download and install Desktop Manager from here:

I would recommend getting the Version 4.2, Service Pack 2 without the Roxio Media Manager (the smaller download).

Thank you all very much I hapoe none of you went out of your way thank you for your fast replyes as well. someone asked what my goals were I wanted to start off whith anything to check out the options I have with this phone then move on to ring tones movies, and music how would I go about doing all that? Or am I getting a little ahead of myself?

sorry here I go bugging again I downloaded "Desktop Software v4.2 SP2 without Media Manager (English)" like jsanders suggested and I notice they have downloads for "BlackBerry Device Manager (English SP2)" do I need one of these? Also how do you know if you have an SD Media Card installed? If I dont have one dose this mean I can lownload ring tones videos and pictures ect. If thats the case how much dose a SD Media Card go for? sorry for the long noob questions and the long message. And thanks to everyone very much!

My Blackberry says I can't text because "Radio is off" How on earth do I turn it ON? I didn't even know I turned it off!!

Help help help, I'm a blackberry newb and away from home and unable to contact anyone.

stellynn, welcome to the BBForums.

Find an icon for "Manage Connections" and turn the radio on there. If you can't find that, look at Option (or Settings) icon, and then Mobile Network, and you can turn it on there.
