Upgrade 7100v on Vodafone BES, cannot generate PIN -

Hi,
I swapped my old mobile and classic blacberry today for vodafone 7100v and cannot get my emails.
I installed BB Desktop Manager v4 SP1 on an MS XP machine. (Having first zapped earlier sw). Connect via USB and device is detected and connected. Prompts me to generate a new key , so do the mouse wriggle, status bar shows new pin.However I cannot select Intellisync, or redirector settings until I disconnect. When I load desktop redirector (whilst disconnected) the old pin number is there from my old device.
I connecting to my Exchange Server thro Outlook 2003.
It's driving me crazy. Any idea of whats happening please.
