I'm new to Blackberry so please be kind.

I have a new 7100g. I've installed Desktop Manager on my PC. When I launch Desktop Manager, about 50% of the time I get a error from XP telling me that the app encountered an error and will be shut down. Once I'm able to successfully launch it Intellisync works properly in both directions.

Also, Handheld Manager appears in my system tray but can't be shut down even when the 7100g is not connected. The "Settings" menu item is available but "Exit" is grayed out. I have to wait approximately 5 minutes for it to shut down itself. Here are my system specifics;

OS: XP Pro SP2
Connection: Direct to a USB1.1 port
Startup is empty
Desktop Manager Version: 4.0.0.30
Handheld Manager Version: 4.0.0.32
BB device Manager version: 1.2.0.15
RIM USB and Serial Driver Version: 1.1.0.2
App Loader version 4.0.0.33
RIM Program: 1.0.0.35
Handheld OS Version: 4.0.0.219

You will have to goto [HERE] and download Desktop Manager v4.0 SP1 and do a complete un-install of Desktop Manager;

Complete un-install instructions:
1) Start -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs -> Removed Desktop Manager

2) Goto C:\Program Files, delete Research In Motion Folder

3) Goto C:\Program Files\Common Files, delete Research In Motion and/or Pumatech Shared Folder

4) Goto C:\Documents and Settings\[UserName]\Application Data and delete Research In Motion folder

5) Start -> Run -> regedit (click OK) -> HKEY_Current_User - > Software and deleted Research In Motion and/or Pumatech Shared Folder

6) Start -> Run -> regedit (click OK) -> HKEY_Local_Machine - > Software and deleted Research In Motion and/or Pumatech Shared Folder

7) Install Desktop Manager v4.0 SP1

shouldn't have anymore issues, if you do contact your service provider or Research In Motion directly.
