Now that I have a Curve, I have to think about how to sync things, and I want to have that worked out before I put a lot of data in. On the Sidekick I didn't have to deal with this, since everything was actively synced all the time. Now, when I open up the Desktop Manager, I'm asked what I want to sync *with*. In the past, my only PIM was the Sidekick itself, so I never used Outlook or anything else. In fact, I don't find Outlook on my computer, which is probably why I can't select it. It lets me select Yahoo! but I have no idea what that means. If there's some sort of Yahoo PIM on my computer, I don't know about it. I tried the ASCII thing, but it looks for some sort of file that it doesn't find.

Do I have to get some other piece of software in order to sync?

It depends what you use for your scheduling.

I guess that's the point. I never used anything except the Sidekick. I guess I'll need to start using something to sync the Curve with.

If you have a gmail account and you had a calendar you can use google sync to synchronize your stuff

I do have a gmail account, and although I never used the calendar, I suppose it would be easy enough to do. I don't know anything about Google sync, but I'll check into it.

Update: I'm using Yahoo to sync everything, and it works fine. It even syncs tasks and notes, which is a plus.
