Desktop manager install in a BES setup -
02-24-2008, 02:21 PM
Hi,
Well, I finally earned my moniker and dropped my Treo for an 8310. I couldn't understand why you blackberry fans didn't want a touch screen but I'm happy to say I don't miss it!
So my BB is through work where they have it setup on BES and it syncs properly with all apps (calender, email, tasks, memos). Life is good!
However, they did not provide the desktop mgr software and said they don't officially support it. But they said we could download it for ourselves so long as we "choose the Internet Version because the other version will stop your BB from syncing wirelessly"... Well, I downloaded the latest version and don't see anything called an Internet Version. What I do see at the beginning of the install is a question of whether I use BES or not....is this what they mean by "Internet Version"?
I'm not sure how to answer that question in the installation...I don't want to risk disturbing the setup that's already working with BES.
Since I've got the flashdrive enabled on the BB, I can use that to transfer music and pics....what else do I need the Desktop mgr for anyways?
thanks,
Chuck
PS: I should mention that I've spent the better part of 2 hours reading the FAQ and search results to try to answer most this but haven't foundany explicit answer...
