Default Filter on Subject - 02-24-2008, 05:30 PM

Hi, all. I have an e-mail filter via Desktop Manager so that when a few select people send me mail, it's treated as Level 1. But my boss has decided to send out daily news clips. I'd like this e-mail to be treated as normal priority.

I figured that the filter rules are executed in priority order, so I'd make up a new filter that is e-mail from my boss with a specific subject line. These e-mails normally say "Computer Daily News xxyyzz" where the xxyyzz is that day's date. Can the subject line filter take a wildcard? Should I enter it as "Computer Daily News*"? Or "Computer Daily News" without the * and hopefully anything which started with that subject would match the filter condition?

Can anyone help me out with this? Thanks.

I believe filters work similar to searches in that you can use a partial subject.

I have a search that has 'Message from' as the subject, and what appears after 'Message from' will vary (it's for our voicemail system).

Only way to tell for sure is to try it out...... perhaps use your personal email account to email to your work account with various subject lines.
