Default Desktop Manager 4.3 - 02-25-2008, 02:33 PM

I have recently purchased a 8100 second hand and i didn't get a desktop Manager disk with it, I have been trying to download and install DM 4.3 on my machine, it starts to download then about 30 minutes into it a message come up saying something like, this is not a win 32 application, and then closes down. Does anyone know what this might mean?

Is there any other way that i can get this to work? I am running Windows XP is that the problem?

Any help would be great.

Thanks

Are you sure you are downloading from the correct place?

http://www.blackberryforums.com/afte...pera-mini.html

That should explain it step by step.

The Error message you say, could indicate a issue with the downloaded file, i.e. the file transfer got aborted before the whole file was transfered.

I have gone on your link for operamini, followed your instructions to download it, i can see the file on my desktop, i then double click it to run and that is when i get the message, unknown file type.

When you say i need to extract it what does that actually mean?

Sorry for sounding stupid!!!

Thanks

use the application loader from within Desktop Manager to install the file to your device.

Its a third party web browser. you should only install it if you think you will use it otherwise it takes up space. Sci-Tek might have to explain what he was going for suggesting the Opera Mini download

As of yet i have not subscribed to the vodafone package to allow me to get e-mails and surf the web, so would you suggest that until i get this that i do not require operamini?

I have also got v4.2.0.67 on my pearl is it easy enought to upgrade this software?

Thanks

Willyc

You download operamini from your phone...download to the phone and then run from the phone
