Default Need help with Roxio Media Manager - 02-26-2008, 02:13 PM

I had this question in the "General 8300 Series Discussion - Curve" and received no replies -- I apologize -- as I had obviously put my question in the wrong part of the forum so -------

I have Desktop Software v4.2 SP2 and Windows XP with service pack 2 installed on my laptop computer. I've had v4.2 SP2 installed for 2 1/2 months with no problems.

Today upon my first computer boot -- Windows Installer popped up and said: "preparing to install' Media Manager. Eventually a message came up saying:
"The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk that is not available" "Insert the 'Roxio Media Manager' disk and click OK"

Since I downloaded v4.2 from the Blackberry web site -- I have no CD-ROM.

I haven't installed anything new lately. I'm assuming something in Roxio Media Manager is corrupt.

I tried to uninstall Desktop Manager 4.2. -- so I could do a clean reinstall. But before the program is uninstalled an error message comes up saying:

"Error 1500. Another installation is in progress. You must complete that installation before continuing this one."

So -- I opened Task Manager and closed everything Roxio related and Blackberry related (as far as I can tell). I tried the uninstall again -- and had the same result.

Since I can't uninstall and do a clean install -- what do I do now?

Thanks,
Crockett
